A large stainless steel pomegranate for hanging, with a round mandala in shades of blue, pink, and burgundy at its center, surrounded by a circle of pomegranate branches. Around the mandala is the blessing for children from the prayer recited after lighting Shabbat candles (in the plural): “May we merit to raise children and grandchildren who are wise and understanding, who love the Lord and revere God, people of truth, holy offspring, devoted to the Lord, and who illuminate the world with Torah, good deeds, and every kind of work in the service of the Creator.” The pomegranate is made of brushed stainless steel with laser-cut detailing, featuring a hanging slot in its crown and a colorful print embellished with small crystal stones that sparkle in the light.

Use and Gifting
The “May We Merit to Raise Children” pomegranate blessing beautifies any room and is suitable for the home or office. A moving gift for a woman, mother, bride, or teacher, and also a wonderful gift to take abroad.
The Pomegranate in Jewish Culture
The pomegranate is one of the Seven Species for which the Land of Israel is praised: “A land of wheat and barley, vines, fig trees, and pomegranates.” According to tradition, a pomegranate has 613 seeds, corresponding to the number of commandments, and is therefore a symbol of abundance, fertility, and good deeds, in the spirit of the Sages’ words: “They are as full of commandments as a pomegranate.” Golden pomegranates adorned the hem of the High Priest’s robe, and pomegranates decorated the capitals of the pillars in the Temple built by Solomon. On Rosh Hashanah, it is customary to eat a pomegranate and say, “May our merits increase like the seeds of a pomegranate.” To this day, the pomegranate remains one of the most beloved motifs in Jewish art.
About Lighting Shabbat Candles
Lighting Shabbat candles is one of the oldest and most beloved Jewish commandments. It is usually the woman of the household who lights them before Shabbat begins. Before lighting, the blessing is recited: “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to kindle the Shabbat light.” After the blessing, many women cover their eyes and offer a personal prayer for their family, including the request, “May I merit to raise children and grandchildren who are wise and understanding.” The candles symbolize “peace in the home” and the light and joy of Shabbat.
About the Artist Dorit Klein

Her designs are characterized by vivid, harmonious colors, precise laser-cut metalwork, and the combination of verses, blessings, and prayers from Jewish sources with motifs such as pomegranates, flowers, hamsas, birds, and Jerusalem landscapes.
