Ring Size Measurement – How to Do It Right
In recent years, we've seen changes in consumption habits and a massive shift towards purchasing from e-commerce sites, much like Israel Gifts.
Today, you can easily buy rings online without leaving your couch.
However, the fact that you can't try on rings before buying them can make things a bit difficult. We receive countless requests and questions about ring sizes. We'll try to help with the question, "What ring size do I need?"
There are several different ring sizes: American, European, British, Japanese, and more. In this guide, we won't elaborate on the different types of measurements but will focus on helping you find the right size.
Using a ring size guide, you can easily determine the ring size you need to order. This is a must before placing an online order.
Measuring Ring Size with an App:
Nowadays, you don't need to struggle with tools, rulers, and all sorts of tangible objects.
To measure your finger size, all you need to do is download a dedicated mobile app – there are several options for Android or iOS.
Most of them work well. All you need to do is place your ring on the screen and adjust the size of the circle appearing on the screen to match the ring's size – the size that then appears will be your ring size.

There are several apps in the app store; choose your preferred one.
Measuring Ring Size Using String, Paper:
Another way to measure your ring size is by using string or paper.
Mark the point where the two ends of the string meet and then measure the length of the string up to that point with a ruler.
The units of measurement obtained are in millimeters, and once you have the length of the string, you'll need to consult a size chart to identify your ring size.
It is advisable to take the measurement 3 times to get the most accurate result.
- US ring sizes. Measure finger circumference and compare to the table to get the size in US sizing.
If string isn't readily available, you can also cut a piece of paper, wrap it around your finger, and mark the meeting point of the two ends of the paper with a pencil or pen.
A few tips for the most accurate measurement possible:
* Measure at room temperature – It is advisable that the measurement be taken at room temperature.
* Measure in the right place – It's always best to measure the thickest part of the finger.
* Sizes vary between websites/countries – Please note that the ring size you order is relevant to the standard sizes in your country and not international sizes. Make sure the ring size matches your measurement method.
* Try not to measure after exertion – If you have engaged in physical activity, it is recommended to wait and measure your finger circumference about twenty minutes later or after your heart rate has returned to normal.
Good luck!
